The Museum was founded in 1978 by the Vehbi Koç Foundation in the former Koç familiy summer retreat, Azaryan Mansion. Today, the Sadberk Hanim Museum is located in two historical and restored Mansions in Sariyer / Istanbul. The private museum is home to two collections with over 18.000 artefacts including archaeological relics from early Anatolian civilization presented in the Sevgi Gönül Building, as well as Turkish Islamic artefacts and rare textiles of the Ottoman era presented in the Azaryan Mansion.
