Display cases news: “Terrasse à Cagnes sur Mer“ by Renoir – a small painting travelling far

The oil pastel painting „Terrasse à Cagnes sur Mer“ (1905), measuring 46 x 55 cm, by Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) from the Collection of the Bridgestone Museum, Tokyo, Japan, is travelling perfectly safe inside a Protector picture case by GLASBAU HAHN.

Organized by the Réunion des musées nationaux, the Musée d’Orsay and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, in cooperation with the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the show starts its tour at the Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais from 23.9.09 - 4.1.2010.Two further venues in the United States are the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in Los Angeles from 14.2. - 9. 5.2010 and the Philadelphia Museum Of Art, Philadelphia from 17.6. - 6.9.2010. There, Renoir will delight the American connoisseurs of French Impressionism with his rarely visible late œuvre, which is known as influential on European painting during the turn of the century. The exhibition brings together about one hundred of late Renoir paintings, drawings and sculptures, from public and private collections all over the world. It is an invitation to see how artists from the first half of the twentieth century like Picasso, Matisse, Maillol or Bonnard looked at the nineteenth-century master Renoir, who happened to be their contemporary.
