Glasbau Hahn has included the carbon footprint and the UN sustainability goals in its mission statement. A Sustainability Officer has been appointed. He reports directly to the Quality Manager and our CEO.

Glasbau Hahn works with an external consultant to define its carbon footprint and obtain product certification for sustainability using the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in accordance with SO 14040/44 and the more specific standards ISO 14025 and EN 15804. Our sustainability officer develops the Glasbau Hahn sustainability handbook, which reports on the current situation and defines short, medium and long-term goals.

Museum display cases "made by Glasbau Hahn" are designed to ensure the long-term protection of cultural assets. Sustainability is at the heart of our business and an integral part of the production process.

Glasbau Hahn pays careful attention to all aspects of sustainability and environmental safety in the design, production and installation of display cases, as well as for the company's operating resources. The specific nature of our company to produce low to zero emission display cases limits our freedom in the choice of materials. We would like to point out that the main materials, metal and glass, are fully separable and recyclable, and for this reason Glasbau Hahn has always used environmentally friendly materials.

Glasbau Hahn implements the concept of sustainability by guaranteeing a life cycle of at least 25 years for Glasbau Hahn constructions, with low maintenance and spare parts available over the entire life cycle. In addition, the company offers and realises projects for the upgrading and refurbishment of museum display cases that have already reached the end of their life cycle.

Under the leadership of the Sustainability Officer, a working group with all department heads and the CEO meets monthly to define and implement improvements in specific areas. A monitoring system has also been set up.

Glasbau Hahn supports the use of public transport by its employees through a subsidy programme offered by our public transport organisation in Frankfurt am Main.

The entire production of Glasbau Hahn showcases takes place in the EU, especially in Germany. All environmental and sustainability legislation is strictly adhered to.

Glasbau Hahn holds a newly introduced sustainability certificate for waste management.
